Synopsis:

This was one of most challenging builds to date. The client made initial contact seeking information on building a custom crate for its center product display. Further discussion with a Moose Logistics representative revealed additional needs for the trade show display. All items, new and existing, had to be shipped in eight business days.

After a meeting with the client, we established a budget range and discussed ways to create an effective design that could be built in seven working days, allowing us one day to prep and pack. The meeting concluded after normal business hours on a Friday, so, contact with most potential vendors to check product availability could not be made until Monday. We determined that the center piece for the display would extend to 20’ in height and would be made from Milos quick truss and dye sublimated booth graphics, primarily because Moose Logistics had the necessary truss components in rental stock if the necessary parts were not available for purchase. Also, Moose Logistics had the engineering specifications on file for quick approval.

A call to California and some creative description to the lighting technician resulted in a cost effective lighting design to highlight the tall features of the display.

After the brainstorming session, Moose Logistics’ Tim Berckesch and Marc Mousseau began to develop a cost analysis for the client and promised to e-mail it by 0800 Saturday morning. By Sunday afternoon, the client approved the cost analysis and production began on Monday morning.

Within seven days, the truss was ordered and delivered, exhibition graphics were designed, approved and created, flooring was custom cut to include a combination of natural wood and carpet designed to highlight the client’s products. We built crates and counters and ordered and shipped the lighting package.

Moose Logistics shipped the display via Dedicated Partial Load Service, Load to Ride. The freight left Atlanta on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 31, and arrived on-site for the target delivery on Saturday, February 3, 2007.

Moose Logistics’ Wade Trotter and Tim Berkesch oversaw production. Trotter flew to Las Vegas to oversee installation and ensure the display was completed and met the client’s approval, before the show opened on Wednesday, February 5, 2007, 19 days after our initial meeting and brainstorming session with the client.

Additional notes:

The four dye sublimated display graphics were sized as Duffle Display big fabric back walls. Post show, each exhibit graphic can stand alone as a 10 x 10 display for smaller shows or vendor events.

Post Script:

“Vendor relationships and dedicated employees are important. Without the assistance and dedication of our employees and vendors, as well as the working relationship established over the last several years, Moose Logistics would not have been able to provide this effective solution within the available budget. We would like to thank those involved with the project for their assistance and cooperation. It was a heck of a ride!” - Marc
