Q: How large can our trade show graphics be?
A: Generally, today's printers can handle fabric or vinyl printing of 10 feet wide and an almost infinite length.
Q: Which is better - fabric or vinyl?
A: It depends on your application and how often the graphic will be used. Fabric is usually better quality and is more durable. If you are going to reuse the same graphics over several shows, fabric is a better choice. However, if you are going to change your message frequently or if the graphic will be displayed very high, then vinyl may be the better alternative.
Q: Is the vinyl similar to what you see used on banners hanging from new businesses?
A: That is one type of vinyl used outdoors that can withstand extreme conditions. There are other vinyl products that are not necessarily shiny and can look professional, especially in a large format and viewed from a distance.
Q: What substrate alternatives are available?
A: If you need a substrate that is solid, then Sintra® or PVC are viable options. These can be printed on surfaces of various thicknesses (3mm - 13mm; 1/8" - 1/2") and then fitted into various systems' frames or attached with Velcro® onto the edge of the frames.
Q: Do you print your graphics in-house?
A: Due to the constant innovation in the printing technology and the expense of the latest equipment, we can't justify the expense for the latest equipment or the qualified staff of skilled professionals necessary to run the equipment. However, we do have relationships with printers throughout the trade show industry whose businesses have the volume to warrant the latest equipment and skilled staff. They are able to supply us with what you need and do so at a price within your budget.
Q: What is the lead time for printing?
A: Once we accept your graphic files, we prefer to have at least one business week to have the printing ready for shipping. In urgent situations, it is possible to work within a shorter lead time, but there may be rush and expediting charges as a result.
Q: How do you want the graphics files prepared?
A: Depending on the type of printing and the type of graphics files to be printed, the technical specifications vary and are determined on a case-by-case basis. Vector (proportionately variable) files work best and offer printers the most flexibility for providing a quality finished graphic.
Q: What graphics programs do you prefer files to be supplied?
A: Most printers are able to handle a wide variety of file formats from various software programs. Once the printing application is decided, we are able to determine the best format to use.
