Q: What advice can you give on making the decision to either purchase or rent a trade show display?

A: Cypress Media Group recommends that you ask us for a quote for both purchase and rental so that you can compare the price of the two options. Several factors will probably influence your decision, including how often you plan to use the display. We think it's best to look at price proposals for both options.

Another aspect to consider is whether your same clients and prospects will see your booth several times at the various shows you attend. Just as some people don't like to wear the same clothing at various events, some people don't like to present the same trade show exhibit look at all their shows.

Q: Does you Atlanta location offer any special price advantage to customers for Atlanta-based tradeshows?

A: We offer a number of discounts on Atlanta shows since we are located in Atlanta. The primary savings we can offer our clients on Atlanta shows is reduced or eliminated shipping costs on the trade show exhibit booths we sell or rent to them for Atlanta shows.

However, we can offer these same savings in many other markets around the world because of our affiliation with local companies for shows in those markets.

Twelve Tips for Trade Show Exhibitors

  1. Read each show contract carefully, understand the terms, show rules, payment schedules, and space assignment.
  2. Develop a realistic show budget that allocates money where it is needed.
  3. Allocate a percentage of your trade show budget for pre-show marketing to attendees.
  4. Staff your booth with the employees who recognize the value of trade shows.
  5. Provide your booth staff with thorough training to represent your product/service.
  6. Develop written talking points for your booth staff to rehearse so they can deliver a uniform message to trade show attendees.
  7. Share your trade show goals and objectives with your booth staff so they know your expectations and can help you achieve them.
  8. Place people in your booth who are good listeners, not just good talkers.
  9. Give each booth staffer a specific role, with defined job expectations.
  10. Establish a dress code for your booth staff so they look professional and represent your company professionally.
  11. Walk over to greet your booth visitors, establish eye contact, read their badge, and greet them by name.
  12. Keep a staff member in your booth at all times to greet browsers, engage them in conversation, and answer their questions.
